About this event
Our first scheduled drive for 2026. Calling all vehicles, especially our EV friends with Macan's and Cayenne's. Those with sports cars are welcome to join us in any vehicle of their choosing. We hope to bring out EV SUV members who haven't joined in a drive previously to enjoy a covered bridge tour of 10 bridges.
We will start at the Perkins 1085 Wilkes Barre Township Blvd, Wilkes-Barre Township, PA 18702. Plan to arrive by 10:15 with a drivers meeting at 10:30. We have revised the route to avoid highway driving. Our drive will meander through small towns with stretches of nice roads in between. Our tour will have a total of 87 miles of which 6 miles are unpaved. This will not be a fast paced drive, just a nice trip around the country viewing bridges as a group. We will be able to drive through a number of the bridges and some just view from the road. We will stop at Forks Farmers Market as a break and look through their gift shop which includes, meats, cheeses, eggs, and other items to enjoy.
Our final destination will be RC's Bar and Grill on Red Rock Road in Benton. They have outside and inside seating and accept cash and major credit cards (No debit cards). If you are still hungry for dessert afterwards, you can stop at Keeney Farms Cowboy Cones just about a mile down the road who sells Penn State Ice Cream as well as a little gift shop that also includes grass fed meat and pork.
