The Great Pumpkin Porsche Race Event

Thunderhill is back on!  The PCA Golden Gate Region Track Program has contracted with Classic Sports Racing Group (CSRG) to provide three days of action-packed racing at Thunderhill Raceway October 30 - Nov 1. We’ll have our own Porsches-only race group, filled with our normal GT, 911CUP and Spec Boxster race cars. As a bonus, we’ll be able to enjoy watching the classic race cars of CSRG go at it as well on the totally repaved Thunderhill Raceway. Reports are that the new surface is fast and smooth.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, this is no longer a National PCA Club Racing event and will not qualify for PCA CR National points.  We’ll fix that for next season. For now, we’re just happy to be going racing. We will run with CSRG as the organizer of the event, following our well known rules.  Mainly, don’t be a knucklehead. 

This is a three day event, three sessions each day, three races for the weekend, in our usual format:

Friday - Three practice sessions

Saturday- Practice, Quali, Sprint Race 1

Sunday - Warmup, Sprint Race 2, Sprint Race 3

One price includes Fr-Sat-Sun. We really sharpened our pencils to come up with a great price, $1300 per racer, plus a $100 CSRG membership fee. This is cheaper than originally planned, and cheaper than many of our other events this season. An informal poll from earlier showed interest from 25-30 racers, which really helped us get this event back on the calendar, so let’s be sure to show up. 

And another thing, THUNDERHILL HAS NEW PAVEMENT! Who doesn't want to run on new pavement? This is one of the single greatest reasons to attend this event. New pavement is not only smooth and clean, but will provide new challenges as old pavement markers have gone away and new ones must be found. An old track that is new again? Yes, please. And the new turns 11-12-13 complex is much cleaner. 

It's also Halloween weekend-woohoo! Who doesn’t want to dress up as a race car driver more than anything else. 

Hopefully you never took this event off of your calendar...but if you did, put it back on. We need racers to show up for this to work.
