Buttonwillow Raceway

About this event

Please join us for a first time California Central Coast Porsche Region morning drive to join the Drivers Education track event at the Buttowillow Raceway on November 1st. You will join the event for an early lunch and then Parade Laps at the noon time break.

You will follow a Pace Car around the track for a 25 minute session. This is a fantastic way to experience what it is like to drive on a professional race track at speeds limited to more than 70mph. You will follow a pace car around the track, learning the turn in and braking points, where to start acceleration after the corner. This is safest way to experience the track, you will drive your own car, other than seat belts safety equipment is not required, passengers are encouraged. We have run these Parade Laps at many of our driving events with many positive reactions from the participants. This is perfect for the lower powered cars such as a 356 or early 911 models.

We are also offering for the first time, on a very limited basis, a DE Track Experience program. You will ride along with a PCA approved Instructor for a 20 or 25 minute session during the Drivers Education event. You can ride in the instructor’s car or the instructor can drive your car with you as a passenger. As you go through the track, the instructor will instruct you on process of driving on a race track. At this time, we can only accommodate six participants, we may expand to more drivers if instructors become available.. You will need to attend a short talk prior to entering the track.. The sessions will be run after the lunch period, be prepared to stay at the track until 5:00pm. Yes, it will be a long day but well worth the time and effort. If you are thinking about joining a DE but are little hesitant, this will give you a chance to experience what is like to drive on the track at track speeds.
